Artist Jazz Recordings is a jazz label based in Vancouver BC, Canada. The label promotes the original music of some of Canada's finest musicians.
AJR was born of a collective idea and a singularly beautiful instrument. When Tom Keenlyside, director of Keenlyside Studios, bought a new Steinway B grand piano, pianists Miles Black and Bob Murphy were delighted by the piano's unique richness of sound. Keenlyside, Black and Murphy agreed that noteworthy pieces of original jazz should be written with the colour of expert creativity in a comfortable space, and recorded with the warmth of the Steinway's sound.
We believe in letting our music speak for itself; we invite you to listen to sample tracks from our albums in the "discography" section of this website.
